City of LAHTI Lahti is a city of approximately 100 000 inhabitants, bordering the Vesijärvi lake in Päijänne Tavastia (Päijät-Häme) region. Distance from Helsinki is 104 km. Lahti is best known for its annually held World Cup winter games called "Salpausselän kisat". It is the only city to host the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships six times.
